Discover your ideal running shoe with a running analysis
As a triathlete, you do a lot of training hours. Swimming, cycling and running – each part requires its own approach and brings unique challenges. For me, running has always been the favorite part, but also the most injury-prone.
The impact during running is great. This is precisely where you can gain – or lose – a lot of time. That is why it is essential to be well prepared at the start, with the right technique and the right material. And that starts with your shoes.
Why are good running shoes so important?
The perfect running shoe is personal. What works for me may not work for you. There is a huge variety of shoes these days:
- Much or little damping?
- A carbon plate or not?
- Lightweight and flexible, or sturdy with grip?
These choices directly affect your running pattern, load and performance. Because I run so many kilometers as a triathlete, I regularly change shoes. But how do you really know which shoe suits your running style?
My experience with the running analysis at TriathlonWorld
Earlier this year I had a running analysis done at TriathlonWorld to find the ideal training shoe. And honestly? I should have done that a lot sooner. During the winter I struggled with painful toenails and blisters from shoes that turned out not to fit properly.
Many sports shops now offer foot measurements. Handy, but often limited to just your foot shape. At TriathlonWorld, they go a step further. In addition to a static measurement, a video analysis of your running pattern is also made. Using advanced techniques, a score is given on three points per shoe, so that you can see exactly which shoe best suits your running style.
What makes it even better? You can test multiple shoes during the analysis. In my case, one of my current shoes turned out to provide too much cushioning. Because I am relatively light, I bounced up too much when running – which caused instability (and risk of injury). Thanks to the expert guidance, we ended up with the HOKA Mach 6 . A model that I had already liked, and that now turned out to be a perfect fit for my running style. Since then, I have not had any more problems with toenails and I enjoy running much more.
Why you should also do a running analysis
The running analysis at TriathlonWorld helped me train injury-free, more effectively and without blisters. It only took half an hour, but immediately gave me more running comfort and better performance. And with the extensive range of shoes, I could immediately feel what worked - and what didn't.
Whether you are looking for a new pair of shoes or regularly struggle with running injuries: this analysis is an absolute must. It will not only help you run better, but also makes training more fun and safer.
So… do you also want to get the best out of yourself? Come to TriathlonWorld and discover what a professional running analysis can do for you!
